MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Mech Dept

Let's gear up together &.. Marsh Faber defines engineering as " finding simple, elegant solutions to problems." Mechanical engineering is a diverse area that brings many disciplines of engineering together. The Mechanical engineering profession goes beyond designing machinery. Mechanical engineers also create sophisticated computer controlled robots, design ships and aircraft, design plants and specialized devices for disabled people, study fluid flow patterns, develop advanced technology to protect the environment, and more.

Because Mechanical Engineering is so broad, you can follow your own special interests and reach your full personal potential. Mechanical engineers work in a broad range of professions and in almost all industries. Mechanical engineering principles and skills are needed at some stage during the conception, design, development, and manufacture of every human-made object with moving parts. Many innovations crucial to our future will have their roots in the world of mass, motion, forces, and energy the world of Mechanical engineers. The Mechanical Engineering Department carries out its mission with a focus on various areas and our faculties make a dedicated group of engineering professionals. The department has undergone substantial developments and we remain committed to continual improvement in our educational process, excellence in engineering and our service to society, in turn to the nation. In the ME Department, you will find a balance between the Indira tradition of excellence with a spirit of entrepreneurship. The Department of Mechanical Engineering has following labs : Basic Mechanical Engineering, Applied Thermodynamics, Engineering Graphics Hall, CAD Cam Lab, Theory of machines, Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Metallurgy, I.C. Engine & Automobile, Heat Transfer.

The department works with the Mission to provide our students with a perfect blend of intellectual and practical experiences, which helps them to serve our society and address a variety of needs. At the end of our program, students are prepared for entry-level work as mechanical engineers as well as for the post-graduate study in mechanical engineering or in another discipline, where a fundamental engineering background constitutes a desirable foundation.
