Extra-Curricular Activities for Academic Year 2017-18
An extracurricular activity help us to develop our student talents, interests, and passions. They can also teach us practical skills like team work and time management. Department of Civil Engineering always look forward and motivate student to participate and organize various extra circular activity under the banner of CESA. Every year we as Department organize various technical and non-technical Event like Constrotect, Engineer’s day, Confluence of SE Students etc.
On the occasion of National Girls Child Day CESA of Civil Engineering Department organized event “TARANG 2k19” on 24th Jan 2019 with theme women empowerment. In this event various elements such as dance, singing, poetry, article writing & recitation were used to full the theme by students. The event was conducted in form of competition and was judged by panel. The following were the winners of event.
1) Pranali Shelke & Group (Dance performance)
2) Suraj Saw (article writing & recitation)
3) Maheshwari Dere (Solo dance performance)

Engineer’s Day was celebrated in Civil Engineering Department on September 15. The program began with National Anthem and paying homage to Sir Vishsweshwaraya by Faculty Members. 15 September, The date was selected because it is the birthday of legendary engineer Dr. MokshagundamVisvesvaraya (M. Visvesvaraya). He is known to be the greatest engineers of all times, who withhis vision and dedication in the field of engineering made some exceptional contributions to India Each letter in the word Engineer has its own meaning i.e.
E - Eager,
N - Nonstop learning,
G - Genius,
I - Intelligent,
N - Nation’s Builder,
E - Effort maker,
E - Excellence,
R - Rider
A famous quote says, “Engineering is the professional art of applying science to the optimum conversion of natural resources to the benefit of man". This quote conform the influencing role of engineers in the development of nation. Engineers are those who operate at interface between science and society. Engineers are the backbone of development & technology. At the outset, a brief introduction of Sir Vishsweshwaraya was given by students. The next proceeding was to inaugurate the Art Exhibition organized by Civil Engineering Department. Principal Sir cut the ribbon for the inauguration. It is worth mentioning here that, it was the first occasion when such type of event was organized. Students and Faculties exhibited their photographs, paintings and poetries. Previous academic year Class Toppers and Subject Toppers were felicitated by giving trophies as souvenir. One of the students named Yash Agarwal gave a lecture on IPR mentioning the process and agencies for patenting. Vote of thanks was given by Prof. Sujata Dev. In her speech she mentioned how important an engineer is the day today life.

Department of Civil Engineering organized a Fresher’s Party on Friday 31st August 2018. Seniors welcome the newbies with open arms... Singing, Dancing and Games made their evening...Students have justify their cozy cocoons behind to start a new journey. Fresher’s were having a mixed feeling of awe and anxiety....
Members of previous years CESA (Civil Engineering Students Association) Committee were felicitated by faculties for their excellent work.
At the end Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher were decided and awarded.

Fresher’s would find these four years the most inspiring years of your life. Hereby wishing them all a very happy and academically fulfilling journey ahead and an outstanding stay in the college.
For the preceding academic 2017-18 we have organized CONSTROTECT 4.18 with the same enthusiasm and determination among the new set of student coordinators, student volunteers and faculty coordinator during 21st & 22nd Feb 2018.
These fests are organized every year with the objective to provide platform for the students to showcase their talent with a competitive spirit
Engineers Day Celebration
To honor Sir MV’s achievements and contribution towards the country, Engineer’s Day is celebrated on his birthday- 15 September 2017 at Department of Civil Engineering.
Confluence of SE Students
It was a day for frolicking for students of Civil Engineering Department as they welcomed second year students - both coming from First Year (FE) and Direct Second Year (DSE) students into the department.
The function was named Confluence as it meant the integration and meeting of all the stakeholders of department viz. faculty, student and alumni.
