MCA Admission Eligibility Criterions (Criteria for MCA Admission):

  • For Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate and All India Candidature Candidate, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidates-
    1. Nationality of Candidate should be Indian.
    2. BCA / B.Sc./ B.Com./ B.A. with Mathematics as one of the subjects ( at 10+2 level or at Graduation level examination ) and obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (at least 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only)
    3. Non zero positive score in MAH-MCA-CET 2020.
  • NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National—
    1. Passed BCA / B.Sc. / B.Com. / B.A. with Mathematics as one of the subjects (at 10+2 level or at Graduation level examination) and obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate;
    2. Any other criterion declared from time to time by the appropriate authority as defined under the Act.

Reservation in MCA:

All the reservations given by Government of Maharashtra are applicable to candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only provided that they are satisfying the eligibility conditions mentioned by respective authorities from time to time

a) Reservation for Backward Class Category Candidates:

The reservation percentage of seats for backward class category candidates who are from Maharashtra state is as given below. And this reservation percentage is available for candidates who are taking admission through CAP. All Backward class candidates can claim category to which they belong to at the time of submission of application form for CAP.

b) Reservation for Physically Disabled Candidates:

There is 5% reservation of total sanctioned intake for persons with disability. For such reservation candidate must have minimum 40 disability.

The one who will claim reservation in this category will submit supporting certificate obtained from respective authority.

(c) Reservation for EWS Candidate:

As per the Provision in Government Resolution No. राआधो-4019/प्र. क.31/16-अ, dated15thFebruary, 2019, 12thFebruary, 2019, 10%seats shall be reserved for EWS candidates. These seats shall be filled by Competent Authority through CAP as per policies of the Government declared from time to time. These seats shall be over and above the sanctioned intake.

(d) Orphan Candidates Reservations –

As per Government resolution 1% seats of CAP seats are reserved for Orphan Candidates.

Scholarships for MCA:

  • 100% scholarship for SC/ST/VJNT/NT/SBC Backward Class Category Candidates
  • 50% scholarship for OBC Category
  • 50% scholarship for Open Category candidate with EBC category (EBC – Annual income less than 8 lacks)
  • EWS scholarship available for students satisfying criterions.
  • Note: Scholarship schemes is applicable to the candidates of (Maharashtra State only)

MCA Admission Process:

A candidate seeking MCA admission in Maharashtra are expected to register their applications on the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra State web portal https://info.mahacet.org/cet2020/MCA2020/. Below are the steps MANDATORY as per Government of Maharashtra’s Rules and Regulations:

STEP 1: MAH MCA CET Online application for MCA admissions

  • Candidates are required to register on the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra State web portal https://ibpsonline.ibps.in/cetmcajan20/ and fill all the necessary information mentioned on website.
  • Candidates are expected to verify the documents after uploading it on portal, followed by confirmation of Application Form for MCA admissions to be done at authorized form acceptance centres.

STEP 2: MAH MCA CET Online Exam & Result Declaration

  • MAH MCA CET is conducted in online mode having 50 Multiple Choice Questions to be answered in stipulated time. http://view.mahacet.org/mahacet/admin/news_document/MCASyllabus051220199.pdf
  • The MAH MCA CET result is declared in the month of April/May. The result is made available on the official website of DTE Maharashtra which can be downloaded result through candidates’ login credentials.

STEP 3: MAH MCA Document Verification & CAP Round

  • Candidates have to proceed for document verification at Facilitation Center (FC) mentioned by authorities for further eligibility of CAP Round.
  • Candidates fill Option Forms after declaration of provisional merit list. College allotment list is made available through candidate’s login.
  • DTE Official Website displays the schedule of CAP Rounds. Document Verification of the candidate is done through Admission Reporting Centre (ARC). The candidate has to report to allotted college for completing admission process.

MCA Department has organized online technical Mock Interviews from 8th to 22nd September 2020 for MCA-III-year students. Faculties assessed the technical and communication competence of the students and gave them individual feedback on their performances. Students found it to be a very helpful for job interview

Online Alumni-Interaction Session with faculty and students was organized by ICEM on 24th October 2020.Total 18 alumni of different Departments from Different Batches from different multi-national companies such as Tech Mahindra, Capgemini Cognizant etc. joined online and enlightened on the skill enhancement, goal setting, career opportunities available in current in demand technologies. It was an online interaction session conducted via MS Teams
