“To bring up smile on someone’s face, to who we don’t owe anything, is what distinguishes us as human.” Indira Group of Institutes has always believed that corporate conscience is about giving back to the communities that keep your business afloat, maybe even ones beyond your reach. Given as a winter assignment, the “Spreading Smiles” initiative has brought up a positive driving force which triggered the thought that it is our social and moral responsibility to contribute towards our society and environment. The Spreading Smiles initiative made the students of IGBS look deep into societal issues faced by children. . IGBS campus including the First Year and Second year MBA Students along with the Staff members volunteered for taking this idea of Spreading Smiles forward. The activity was carried out by students and staff members on individual and group basis at their respective home towns. Some Students even made their peers and family members a part of this wonderful initiative. “I created a beautiful, unforgettable memory associated with spreading smile by distribution of stationary to students of ZP school number 7, Sangli.” Quoted Ruchita Jotrao, MBA First year student of IGBS. “Visiting the orphanage is a life changing experience and you start appreciating the little things in life when you see people who don’t have them. Only at such times do you tide over the insignificant and immaterial things and appreciate the bigger picture. I feel extremely fortunate that I HAVE MY PARENTS WITH ME, THESE LITTLE ANGELS DON’T.”, stated an emotional Tejasvini Pawar, MBA First Year Student after visiting an orphanage. The initiatives and activities conducted under this endeavor were popularized by the students under #SPREADINGSMILES#IGBS#INDIRA#SILVERJUBILEEYEAR#PROUDTOBEANINDIRAITE through social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. The students and staff of Indira Global Business School, Pune really proved that a smile can be the light in your window that tells others that there is a caring, sharing person inside.
Nakul Khairnar, Student of MBA First Year donated required school supplies to orphans at village named Chehadi, situated near Nashik.
