Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2007 by offering undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering. The program is affiliated to University of Pune, recognized by Govt. of Maharashtra & All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi. In addition to Mechanical Engineering Program, the Department has started an Undergraduate Program in Mechanical-Sandwich from 2013.
The Department has also started post graduate program in Mechanical Engineering (Heat Power) affiliated to Pune University since 2012.
Courses offered under PG –
1. M. E. Mechanical (Heat Power) – 18 Intake
Postgraduate programs have a pivotal role in the overall development, particularly in the economic and industrial sectors of the society. Post-Graduation gives the much needed educational experience required to perform the duties of high positions in the professional life. It improves time-management and self-discipline. It helps in identifying the possibility of implementing standard or non-standard solutions to the real life situations. Keeping all this in mind the Department has started the PG program in Heat Power specialization with following Program Objectives:
- To inculcate research culture in the students.
- To improve their performance in academics.
- To provide the necessary support in order to place the students appropriately.
- To inculcate research culture in the Faculty of the Department.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering has well experienced, highly motivated faculty for teaching and guiding the PG students.

The Department is having The Department is planning to set up a ‘state of art’ research lab for PG students and will emerge as a center of excellence in the field of Heat Power Engineering. With the help of PG students, the Department wishes to help society and industrial sector by solving higher level real life problems. The Department is aiming at good project work from every student and there by leading to at least one research paper per student. Through this the Department is aiming at increasing rapport with the Industries and R & D organizations.
