NSS has been introduced at Savitribai Phule Pune University since 1969 as a part of the academic programs and since then NSS has been functioning as a regular feature in the realm of our university education. The overall objective of the scheme is educational and service to the community is the activity through which the objective is sought to be achieved.
National Service Scheme (NSS) has been playing a vital role in enriching the souls and minds of the students of the university since long time. The overall objective of this scheme is ‘Education and Service’ to the community and by the community. It is a programme for students to cater to the needs of the community, as and when required. It will also help the students to communicate with the society. The students joining this scheme develop many behavioral interactive skills. They visit the rural areas as NSS volunteers during the camps organized by the concerned colleges or departments of the university. The scheme promotes the ability to present them in a better way.
NSS team of ICEM was organized health awareness drive on 21 st April through video online mode. All NSS students and staff participated in the drive through online mode and made it a success.

His birth marks the start of vision to follow the path of truth and has led India to its freedom. On 17’ October 2020, Students Activity club,Central library, Student Council and NSS members organized an event to honor and tribute the most influential Personality of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam . A story telling competition was organized to nurture the students’ talents. The event has exiting prizes which will be announced in the next session

“Jago Grahak Jago” on 24th December 2020, National Service Scheme (NSS) members organized an online Competition on “National Consumer Awareness Quiz” on the occasion of Consumer Awareness week.153 students were participated in this event. National Consumer Day is observed every year on 24th Dec to spread awareness to about consumer importance, their rights, and responsibilities. “Never Forget the Heroes Who Sacrificed Their Lives to Bring up This Glorious Day to India, Happy Republic Day.” 23rd Jan & 26th Jan 2021,NSS members organized an event to honor and tribute the most influential person, our heroes of the Nation, Swami Vivekananda & also showcase their talent on republic day by delivering speech, showing poster & singing patriotic song. Shivjayanti and Road Safety Awareness Campaign was celebrated in college using online platform on 27th February 2021 & Road safety rules checking at ICEM campus on 25th Feb & 26th Feb. On 19th February Shivjayanti is celebrated all over Maharashtra in memory of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. College students Miss. Vaishnavi Bhapkar and Mr. Shubham Kolhe delivered speech to audience which was based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his great achievements.Sketch competition was conducted for students to show their talent. The road safety awareness campaign was organized by Student Council, NSS, i-MESA of ICEM. The main aim to raises awareness about road safety, and encourages everyone to take action to prevent casualties and make roads safer. Student given chocolates to people who were following the rules like using helmet & seat belt
NSS team of ICEM was organized cleanliness drive on the occasion of “Tukaram Maharaj Dindi Wari, 26th June 2019 at Degugaon near Temple at 1 pm to 3 p.m. All NSS students and some villagers participated in the drive and made it a success.
NSS team of ICEM was organized tree plantation drive on the occasion of “Van Mahotsav 2019” on Wednesday, 3rd July 2019in ICEM campus near workshop at 3.30 p.m. All faculty members, HOD'S and students participated in the Programme and made it a success. NSS team planted 25 Gulmohar trees.
NSS team of ICEM donated food materials to Abhalmaya Orphanage Girls on Friday, 9th August 2019 at Pachanegaon.AllNSS students actively participated in the program. Girls perform some poem, song for NSS students and our students learned real life experience from orphanage girl.
Feel better, feel fitter, Donate blood and make it matter. On 31st Aug, 2019 team N.S.S. organized the blood donation camp. The students of NSS was actively participated in the activity. Our college student and staff member gave good response to the activity and donate the blood. We have collect more than 50 bottles of blood in association with Acharya Anandshriji blood bank.All faculty members and students participated in the activity and made it a success. Our college Principal Dr. Sunil Admuthe was the Chief Guest for the activity and Vice Principal Dr.Poornashankar,all HODs participated and support the event.
