Induction Programme

About induction program

The term induction is generally used to describe the whole process whereby the incumbents adjust to or acclimatize to their new roles and environment. In other words, it is a well-planned event to educate the new entrants about the environment in a particular institution, and connect them with the people in it.

Objectives

Purpose of Student Induction Programme is to help new students adjust and feel comfortable in the new environment, inculcate in them the ethos and culture of the institution, help them build bonds with other students and faculty members, and expose them to a sense of larger purpose and self-exploration.

Activities

12th INDUCTION PROGRAMME

Induction programme is an informative and educative program to groom and nurture young engineering students to mould fraternity in the days to come. The 12th Induction Programme for the students of FIRST YEAR Engineering was held on 14th August 2018 organized by Indira College of engineering and management.

The aim of the program was to give the students who are joining the college a bird’s eye view about various dimensions of engineering and the career opportunities for the engineering students and to acquaint them with the systems and procedures of the college. The idea was to make the students aware of their prospective opportunities and to show them the path they have adopt in order to become successful engineers.

The Programme started with the Poster and Project exhibition by the first year students on the Theme “Innovate & Incubate”. The programme continued with the National Anthem followed by Lamp lighting. Principal Dr. Sunil Admuthe welcomed the gathering with the speech about the academic community. He advised the students to update their selves with recent technologies to survive in revolutionary and competitive era.

Further the session on the era of i4.0 was delivered by honorable Group director Prof. Chetan Wakalkar. He also presented about the revolution in industries.

The function was graced by the top management dignitaries. An auspicious bamboo sapling and gift was presented to the Chief Guest Dr. Anil Kumar from NCL, Pune by Group director Prof. Chetan Wakalkar. He shared the experiences of his life and how to utilize the facilities available and create opportunity. He delivered an inspirational talk in which he guided the students about goal setting and planning to become a good engineer.

FE toppers, the best placed students and project teams were encouraged with trophies & certificates from the institute. The programme ended with the vote of thanks proposed by FE H.OD. Dr.Vinayak Kale. The entire programme was anchored by first year students.

Induction programme is an initiative to groom the overall personality of students and make them acquainted with the culture of the institution. The 10th Induction Programme for the students of FIRST YEAR Engineering was held on 11th August 2016. The aim of the programme was to ensure that every student feels welcomed, engaged and excited to begin this new important stage in their education. The idea was to make the students aware of their prospective opportunities and to show them the path they have adopt in order to become successful engineers. The Programme started with the Poster exhibition by the first year students on the Theme “Cleanliness”. Two Parallel sessions were conducted in Vishveshwarya Hall & APJ Hall. The programme started with the National Anthem followed by Lamp lighting. Principal Prof. Sunil Ingole & Vice Principal Dr. Poornashankar delivered the inaugural address in APJ Hall & Vishveshwarya Hall respectively where they welcomed the students and advised them with their words of wisdom. Chairperson Dr.Tarita Shankar addressed the students regarding the importance of Personal Cleanliness and Public cleanliness, she focused on how “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan” contribute towards a clean and green India. Mam has also given some tips to the students to become responsible and good citizen of India. Group director Prof. Chetan Wakalkar, in his interactive session, informed the students about the various qualities they need to inculcate in themselves in order to become good engineers. He encouraged students to make a time table and follow it. It was an inspiring session where he highlighted the responsibilities of engineering students. The chief guest of the event was Mr. Kabir Gaikwad HR manager, Atlas Copco Ltd.Pune .He addressed the students about the Role & Responsibilities of Engineers and importance of communication and technology. The guest of honor Mr. Rajesh Singh, Leader Campus India, Syntel, informed the students about profibus technology and its uses. He emphasized on the importance of effective communication skills for engineers. FE toppers were encouraged with some gifts & certificates from the institute. The guests were felicitated by the Chairperson Dr. Tarita Shankar & Group director, Prof. Chetan Wakalkar. The programme ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr.Vinayak Kale in Vishveshwarya Hall & Dr. Parul Gupta in APJ Hall. The entire programme was anchored by first year students.

9th INDUCTION PROGRAMME of the First Year Engineering Students

The 9th Induction Programme of the students of FIRST YEAR Engineering was held on 7th August 2015.

The programme started with the project exhibition by First Year Engineering students. The programme was inaugurated digitally by using a digital lamp and a digital banner. The Principal Dr. Ajay Deshmukh delivered the inaugural address where he welcomed the students and advised them with his words of wisdom.

Our group director Prof. Chetan Wakalkar, in his interactive session, informed the students about the various qualities they need to inculcate in themselves in order to become good engineers. He encouraged students to make a time table and follow it. It was an inspiring session where he highlighted the responsibilities of engineering students.

The Vice –Principal Dr.Poorna Shankar encouraged the students to become smart learners in her presentation on “Smart Learning.” She educated the students about how they can use their smart phones to enhance their learning process and make it more enjoyable.

The chief guest of the event was Mr. Dileep Miskin, the director of UL Group of institutes. He informed the students about profibus technology and its uses. He emphasized on the importance of effective communication skills for engineers. Dr. Pratibha Shingare, ENTC department COEP, graced the function as the guest of honour. She made the students understand about the basics of engineering and advised them to have an interdisciplinary approach while learning their subjects.

The FE and BE toppers were encouraged with some gifts from the institute. The project winners were also felicitated by Dr. Deshmukh. One of the senior faculty members from Computer department, Prof. Ashish Manwatkar, has written two books for BE Computer students, viz., “Principles of Modern Compiler Design” and “Design and Analysis of Algorithm.” These books were inaugurated by Chetan sir and other dignitaries. Both the guests were felicitated by the group director, Prof. Chetan Wakalkar. The programme ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Leena Jadhav. The entire programme was anchored by first year students Shradha Kadam and Shubham Patil.
