Welcome to the Mechanical Engineering Department at Indira College of Engineering and Management. Established in 2007, our department has been at the forefront of engineering education, fostering innovation and excellence. Currently the department offers one undergraduate program, B.E in Mechanical Engineering and Post Graduate program in ME -Mechanical, with an intake of 60 & 12.
The department has a team of highly qualified, motivated and experienced faculty with doctorates (Ph.D.) and M.E./M.Tech qualification in various areas of specializations. Majority of the faculty are having varied experience of industrial, teaching and research which help to serve the students in exposing them to industrial and research environment. Mechanical engineering department have well equipped applied thermodynamics lab, Fluid Mechanics and Turbo machine lab, Modelling and Analysis lab, CAD lab, Industrial Fluid Power lab, Heat Transfer lab, Material Science and Metallurgy lab, Meteorology and Quality control lab, Research lab and with well-equipped workshop.
The department is associated with professional bodies such as Society of automotive Engineers (SAE), Various Department of S P Pune University, Indian Society for Technical Education under which various activities are being taking place and collaboration with various company by various student development program.
Department have its own Technical student association i.e. IMESA, TEAM ALCHEMIST and VARIOUS TECHNICAL/ NON-TECHNICAL CLUBS which have various landmark in SUPRA and SAE BAJA. Department organize various technical event like MECHANICA, MAVERIX AND PROJECT COMPITATION.

Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2007 by offering undergraduate and Post Graduate program in Mechanical Engineering. The program is affiliated to University of Pune, recognized by Govt. of Maharashtra & All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi.

M. Tech (Mechanical): The eligibility criteria for admission to a Postgraduate (PG) program in Mechanical Engineering in Maharashtra State typically involve several key requirements. Here's a comprehensive overview:
- Bachelor’s Degree: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from a recognized university. The degree should be approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or the equivalent accreditation body.
- Minimum Marks: Candidates generally need to have secured at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved category candidates) in their undergraduate degree.
- GATE Score: A valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score is typically required. The GATE score should be relevant to the Mechanical Engineering discipline.
- Non-GATE Candidates: Some institutions may conduct their own entrance exams or consider other national level entrance exams for non-GATE candidates. However, preference is usually given to candidates with a valid GATE score.
- Maharashtra Candidates: For state quota seats, candidates must meet the domicile requirements as specified by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra. Typically, this includes candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree from an institution in Maharashtra or who have a domicile certificate of Maharashtra.
- All India Candidates: Candidates from other states may also apply but may be considered under a different quota (All India Quota) with specific reservation policies.

ICEM has a wonderful group of faculties who have a great bonding with students and parents. Various good companies come to college for campus interview, placement is also good. College has very nice environment. Thanks ICEM for the great opportunity. There's a lot that I learned when I was working in the placement cell.
Role of placement cell in my campus selection: First of all, I must thank one of the most active & helpful groups of ICEM - Placement cell. Placement cell played vital role in our preparation for the interviews, GDs & soft skills development. Interviews are to be faced with full confidence & that key to the success is taught through various activities held by placement cell in ICEM.
