NSS has been introduced at Savitribai Phule Pune University since 1969 as a part of the academic programs and since then NSS has been functioning as a regular feature in the realm of our university education. The overall objective of the scheme is educational and service to the community is the activity through which the objective is sought to be achieved.
National Service Scheme (NSS) has been playing a vital role in enriching the souls and minds of the students of the university since long time. The overall objective of this scheme is ‘Education and Service’ to the community and by the community. It is a programme for students to cater to the needs of the community, as and when required. It will also help the students to communicate with the society. The students joining this scheme develop many behavioral interactive skills. They visit the rural areas as NSS volunteers during the camps organized by the concerned colleges or departments of the university. The scheme promotes the ability to present them in a better way.
Indira College Of Engineering And Management organized Blood donation camp on 13th September 2022 at “VIVEKANANDA Hall” ICEM with the help of SHREE AACHARYA BLOOD CENTRE. For this student prepared creative posters displaying slogans and giving message a to create awareness among the people about blood donation. Many students donated blood in the camp.
On Plastic Day students actively participated for plastic garbage collection at Parandwadi on 19th October 2022. For this student prepared creative posters displaying slogans and giving message a to create awareness among the people about Plastic Day. Many students showed there participation.
The National Service Scheme unit of ICEM celebrated the Constitution Day (National Law Day), on 26th November 2022 to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. This event was organized by the volunteers of NSS unit. This event not only motivated towards “Guiding Principles of our Constitution” but also provide the opportunity to learn about the significance of the Constitution to our present-day youth.
Date: 22nd October 2021 Venue: Parandwadi Time:10:00 am NSS and Student Council organized the Constitution Rally to spread awareness about Constitution day. Under this programme, all the students of NSS and Student had to participate. Even every staff were the essential part of this rally. Students from FE,SE,NSS and staff participated in a big number .
Indira College Of Engineering And Mangement organized Tree Plantation drive under NSS on 26th December 2022 from 02 PM – 04 PM at ,Parandwadi. Students were divided into different groups for planting different saplings like Neem tree, Pimpal, Vaad, Peru, and palm.
Date:3rd February 2023 Venue: INDIRA COLLEGE OF ENGINERING AND MANAGEMENT Time:10:00 am Details of the Nirbhaya Kanya abhiyan Nirbhaya Kanya Abhiyan program was organized at Indira College of Engineering whose main aim was to develop critical mind, self-confidence and commitment towards Society for women’s. The speaker explained why there is need of Nirbhaya Kanya Yojana and gave some basic awareness of cybercrime. The second speakers, she explained us more about women safety and gave us a number which is to be dialed in an emergency (1091 and 112). The third speaker mentioned all the basic article, laws and rights that every woman should be aware of. All staff members and the college girls actively participate and made the event successful. We are thankful to the speaker to enlighten our minds and gave their precious time for the event.
Date:16/03/2023 Venue:Visapur Fort Cleaning of Visapur fort was done by students during trekking. Many plastic bags , chips wrappers, clothes , biscuit wrappers, plastic bottles were collected by students on 16 March 2023 from 10:00am to 3:00pm. With reference to the notification dated 29 July 2021, regarding essay writing competition on the occasion of 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence, “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav”. Student Council and NSS have jointly organized and conducted an essay competition at our institute on the topic Future Technology Needs for India-2047, as per the guide lines provided by Technology Information, Forecasting & Assessment Council (TIFAC). We have selected best five entries with the help of selection committee including Dr. Manjusha Tomar and Prof. Ashwini Gaikwad in Jury panel. The standards for the evaluation were creativity, originality, writing skills, composition, technical excellence and presentation. 5 marks were allotted to each measure and in total, the essay was evaluated for 30 marks. The best five entries were selected and sent on the email id ed.technicalcell@tifac.org.in for the further process.
on occasion of Ganpati Festival, NSS and SDC and Festive club of ICEM has organized "Eco friendly Shadu Mati Ganpati Making (Do It yourself)" workshop on Saturday, 28/8/2021 to 8th Sept 2021,More than 15 staff from all department were participated and make beautiful Ganpati Bappa . Dr.Sunil Ingole principal ICEM appreciated and motivated all staff for this activity.
On account of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav and Ganapati Festival, NSS and Student Council of ICEM has organized Tree Plantation Drive as a part of social activity on 14/09/2021 at 1:00 pm near workshop, in presence of Chairperson Dr. Tarita Shankar, Group Director Prof. Chetan Wakalkar, ICEM Principal Dr. Sunil Ingole, IGBS Director Dr. Veerendra Tatake Mr. Sandeep Gaekwad ,Executive Director, Admin &HR, Mr.Adesh Gaekwad, Executive Director Projects and heads of all departments.Few trees were planted in college premises. A man doesn't plant a tree for himself. He plants it for posterity.
Date: 22nd October 2021 Venue: Parandwadi Time:10:00 am Details of the cleanliness Drive NSS and Student Council organized the Swachhta Abhiyan program to spread awareness on keeping our surrounding clean. Under this programme, all the students of NSS and Student had to participate. Even teachers were the essential part of this drive. As a part of this Cleanliness Drive, we cleaned the surrounding of the Parandwadi Gram Panchayat and temple. Some of us picked brooms and started our job. Some of the students started picking up dry waste with the help of gloves into the garbage bag provided by the institute. Mrs.SulabhaTai Kundan Bhote and Mrs.JantaBai Bhote along with our principal Mr. Sunil Ingole graced the event with their presence.

Emotional intelligence describes an ability, capacity, skill, or self-perceived ability to identify, assess, and manage the emotions of one's self, of others, and of groups. People who possess a high degree of emotional intelligence know themselves very well and are also able to sense the emotions of others; thus they are resilient and optimistic. The five domains of emotional intelligence cover together personal (self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-motivation) and social (social awareness and social skills) competences. These five domains relate to knowing ones' emotions; managing your emotions; motivating yourself; recognizing and understanding other people’s emotions; and managing relationships, i.e., managing the emotions of others.

Before he died at the age of just 32 from tuberculosis, he had already given the world around 3,500 mathematical formulae that scientists have still not been able to completely prove. The main objective behind celebrating the day is to raise awareness among people about the importance of mathematics for the development of humanity. This day was celebrated by Student Council and NSS in a unique way in Indira College of engineering and Management. A quiz was prepared on different mathematics concepts and was circulated among the students to check their knowledge and interest in this subject via google forms. Students too wholeheartedly participated in the event. Students were asked different types of questions based on national consumer day, consumer rights to make them aware regarding this day. Students too wholeheartedly participated in the event. On 19th February Shivjayanti is celebrated all over Maharashtra in memory of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. College students Miss. Vaishnavi Bhapkar and Mr. Shubham Kolhe delivered speech to audience which was based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his great achievements.Sketch competition was conducted for students to show their talent. The road safety awareness campaign was organized by Student Council, NSS, i-MESA of ICEM. The main aim to raises awareness about road safety, and encourages everyone to take action to prevent casualties and make roads safer. Feel better, feel fitter, Donate blood and make it matter. On 31st Aug, 2019 team N.S.S. organized the blood donation camp. The students of NSS was actively participated in the activity. Our college student and staff member gave good response to the activity and donate the blood. We have collect more than 50 bottles of blood in association with Acharya Anandshriji blood bank.All faculty members and students participated in the activity and made it a success.
